Degree Program in Health Services

The capstone program leading to a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Health Services is offered to graduates of community colleges and technical institutions who have received an associate’s degree in a health-services field. Candidates for this capstone program are currently employed in a position such as one of the following: certified registered nurse anesthetist, dietetic and food management technician, emergency medical technician, medical assistant, medical laboratory technician, medical record technician, nuclear medicine technician, registered nurse, radiation therapy technician, respiratory therapist, or health/physical education teacher.

The program has a 33-credit distribution in liberal arts and sciences and 30 credits in one of two concentrations: Business Administration or Public Health.

The Business Administration concentration is designed for those who wish to move into management positions in clinics, hospitals, or food services operations and for those involved in areas of supervision, personnel, leadership training, employee development, or adult education in public, private, or non-profit organizations.

The Public Health concentration is provided for those who are involved in aspects of public or environmental health, nutrition, or occupational safety.
